“Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.” ~Gwyneth Paltrow

Fairytale Regions - Venice
The New York Times described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man". Stretched across 117 small islands, Venice boasts 455 bridges, hundreds of canals where romantic gondolas wind their way through the city, and is home to the famed Carnival of Venice, Venice Biennale and the Venice Film Festival.
For great images of Venice on film, check out Chasing Liberty (Yes, it's Mandy Moore, but it's a great chick flick), The Tourist (Yes, it got mostly sketchy reviews, but I loved it), and The Italian Job.

Kate Middleton at Zara Phillip's Wedding
Zara Phillips, the Queen's granddaughter, and British rugby player Mike Tindall tied the knot two weeks ago and Kate Middleton wore the best English wedding hat I have seen all year. Her Gina Foster hat was added to the Collette Dinnigan lace dress and De Bergen et Mikkelsen brocade coat she had worn to the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles, the daughter of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and her previous husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, to spruce up the previously seen wedding outfit a bit.

Man Crush - Max Irons
This dashing 25 year old son of well known actor Jeremy Irons is just getting his start, but became noticed in the 2011 film Red Riding Hood (I know that it got shaky reviews, but I really enjoyed it). Later in the year he will be staring in the Boris Damast film Vivaldi, staring as the composer himself in a biography of Antonio Vivaldi's life.
At the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala this year.
At the MET Gala this year with girlfriend, Emily Browning
With his co-stars from Red Riding Hood, Amanda Seyfried and Shiloh Fernandez

Lady Gaga's Next Designer?
Iris Van Herpen's Fall Haute Couture 2012 collection screams Lady Gaga. I would be very pleased to see her in these pieces, although I do wish she would bring her style a bit more along the lines of the green Valentino coat she wore at the Tokyo airport earlier this summer.

Everyday Monotone Style
Who: Emmy Rossum and Maggie Q
What: Emmy in J.Mendel bright orange top and skirt with espresso suede pumps and Maggie in Max Mara yellow crew neck shirt and chino shorts and black loafer-style flats.
Why It Works: When you do bright colored separates, they absolutely have to match to a tee if you want to do the same color. If the color is super close but not exact, it will not look as put together, and it will probably just bug you. Although you do not need to have long sleeves, I personally like the proportion of it, but in the summer I will do this with shorts and a tank since it gets so hot in D.C. Again, keep the accessories, shoes, and hair simple. The color will speak for itself.
Who: Oliva Wilde and Liv Tyler
What: Antonio Berardi sheath with Brian Atwood pumps and Stella McCartney crew neck sheath dress with black pumps and clutch
Why It Works: The color of these dresses are phenomenal. The cut is simple and classy and highlights their waist's at the right point. Accessories and hair aren't fussy.
Looking for Something Simpler? Bright Hues Too Much For You?
Who: Sandra Bullock (at the premiere of friend Ryan Reynold's movie The Change Up)
What: Black Lanvin jumpsuit with Penny Preville and Adeler gold jewelry and black strappy heels.
Why It Works: To wear a jumpsuit, you really have to think about proportion and fit. Personally, I am still looking for the perfect one. It has to emphasize the part of your waist that is the smallest, which this does on Sandra. Since it's strapless as well, it shows enough skin so that she doesn't look completely washed out in black. It is simple, easy, and sexy.

Jennifer Lopez in Vanity Fair
In her first interview since the announcement of her divorce, Jennifer Lopez talked to Vanity Fair as their September cover girl. She did not respond to the rumors that Marc Anthony, her husband, had become very controlling in the relationship, so much that he had final say in some of her wardrobe choices, but she did say that she still believes in love and that "Sometimes we don't realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself -- if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me," she says. "I love myself enough to walk away from that now."
You go girl. I have so much respect for her, she truly is a role model.
