ShopBop.com

ShopBop.com is by far one of the best internet shopping gems I have encountered. Amazing jewelry and dresses are my favorite, along with any brand of jean you could wish for. If you are looking for a website full of designer duds, with prices that can fit your budget (and break the bank if you're looking for that) ShopBop.com is the place for you. And last year during Fall Fashion Week in NYC they posted this on their homepage;

"We braved pouring rain, pointy elbows, and the kind of foot pain that only a week solid of sprinting in heels can cause, subsisting on coffee, diet soda, and whatever we can scrounge from the bottom of our bags for days on end. Why? Because it’s Fashion Week."

And that's the honest truth :)

20 Things To Do Before Tying The Knot

Today I was watching "The Wendy Williams Show" otherwise known as the only thing that can wake me up enough at 8am so I don't wobble and fall onto the Metro tracks on the way to work. One of the things she talked about was her own marriage and the things she believes every woman should experience before she gets married. And the more I thought about it, the more I found that I agreed with her. I think many people get married too early. As it happens I am going to a friend's wedding on Saturday. The bride is 24 and she is the only girlfriend the groom has ever had. I love them both dearly and am thrilled for them, but on some level I don't really understand it. My heart says it's the cutest thing I've ever heard but my head says "Ahh you're crazy!!!". So with further research, here is the list.

1. Live by herself for at least a year.
2. Live with someone else for at least a year.
3. Recover from a broken heart.
4. Have a vacation fling.
5. Take a road-trip with a group of girlfriends.
6. Relish sleeping in a queen-sized bed by herself.
7. Get her finances in order.
8. Learn to love her body.
9. Have a night with at least one person she’d never want to marry (or introduce to mom).
10. Find reliable birth control.
11. Pay off as much credit card debt and student loans as possible.
12. Spend way too much on a something frivolous.
13. Exorcise all past relationship demons.
14. Travel somewhere exotic.
15. Establish a strong circle of friends.
16. Forgive her parents for not being perfect.
17. Have at least one night crazy with her friends.
18. Experience some really bad first dates.
19. Find hobbies that fulfill her.
20. Celebrate her 25th birthday.

Manolo Blahnik

Manolo Blahnik’s are a beautiful thing. Just look at them. You feel like you have the grace and poise of Jackie O with the flats and closed-toe pumps, and next you’re Carrie Bradshaw in hot pink sandals with a ribbon tie in the back. The strappy heels and jeweled evening pumps are my favorite. I, unfortunately, do not have the means currently to own a pair of Manolo’s on my own. The nicest shoes I own are a pair of caramel colored peep-toe sling-back pumps from Ralph Lauren. And don’t get me wrong I love them. I would jump out in front of a car to save them from being run over. But I would jump in front of large tour bus to save my (future) Manolo’s.
