Ondine

Ondine (2009) is the story of an Irish fisherman (Colin Farrell) who catches a woman in his fishing net who he believes to be a kind of water nymph (Alicja Bachleda). This is one version of the story of the European fairytale of Ondine. The Sleep of Ondine, a German story in which Ondine gives up her mortality to marry a Knight but when she begins to age, the Knight loses interest in her, sleeps with another woman, and she places a curse upon her unfaithful husband; as long as he is alive he will be able to breathe, but if he ever falls asleep he will never be able to draw a breath again. This version of the story has been made into a ballet multiple times, which I now have a huge hankering to see! On a side note, Alicja looked absolutely stunning at the Golden Globes, pictured below with Colin Farrell.

Grace single-handedly brought about the popularity of the Hermes Birken bag, which she used to hide the beginnings of her pregnancy. The bags currently have a starting price of $7,500 and there is a startling wait list, only a handful of lucky ladies getting one of the bags every year. 

Grace on the set of one of her best films one of my personal favorites, To Catch A Thief in which she starred with Cary Grant.

When I first starting watching Sex and the City, the jury was out on Carrie's style. But as the Seasons progressed (Season 5 and Season 6 are the best hands down, no contest), the more I adored her. And some of her best style moments occur at pivotal points in Carrie's life.

Tuxedo Lingerie

I have an unhealthy obsession with lingerie. When I found out that H&M had super cute bra's for around $15, I ended up with about 10 bras before I switched sizes (TMI? Mayhaps perchance). I was surfing around on the web the other day and found this gorgeous tuxedo inspired babydoll from Victoria's Secret distributed in 2009 (Sorry ladies, my heart broke as well). I never thought that you could put classy and lingerie in the same sentence until I saw this. It had stolen my heart. 

Marilyn Monroe

I'm a firm believer in hand-written Thank You notes. As was the lovely Marilyn as it turns out. This is the perfect Thank You note; short and to the point but with personality. 

Style Icon - Ashley Olsen

Even though the Olsen twins are known for their usually frumpy & layered style, I've been recently impressed with her clothing choices and she looks amazing!

Best Hair Color

Nicole Kidman is my pick for best hair color because she knows how to pick the right shade of brunette, red, and blonde so that every color is flattering (although I do prefer her as a redhead).

Golden Globes 2011

The Golden Globes, which aired last Sunday night, are always full of great moments, but the big winner of the year was Glee. The entire cast looked gorgeous and seemed to be having a blast and I was thrilled to see Chris Colfer win for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy or Musical. You can watch his win below.
